History of Double Bubble Clocks
The "Double Bubble" style clocks were produced in the 1950's
and 1960's by the Advertizing Products Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.
In recent years they have become the most desirable of the collectable
clocks of that era. Today many collectors of 50's memorabilia restrict
their entire collection of clocks to only Double Bubbles. Several collectors
have well over a hundred different logos, or graphics on these beautiful
clocks.
The "Double Bubble" clock has an inner dial which sweeps
over the inner glass bubble and featured advertizing, and the outer
"crystal" or glass bubble usually features the numbers of
the clock. Both globes are luminated from the rear with either two low
wattage light bulbs or one florescent bulb. They measure approximately
15 inches in diameter.
Recently, these clocks have been redone with the original licensed
artwork from Wayne's Clocks. We are excited about not only issuing the
designs that were never made but also reproducing some original designs.
In fact, all the parts of this clock are interchangeable with the originals.
